Service Engineer – Micro-CT Systems
We are looking for a service engineer to join our team of experts in helping advance research by providing technical support and maintenance for micro-CT systems across the United States. Micro-CT systems are advanced X-ray imaging devices that allow researchers to visualize the internal structure of objects in 3D, with applications in fields such as biology, materials science, geology, and more.
As a service engineer, you will be responsible for:
Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues or malfunctions that may arise with the Micro-CT equipment hardware or software.
Using your training and problem-solving and diagnostic skills to repair systems and answer customer questions quickly and successfully.
Performing regular inspections and preventive maintenance on micro-CT systems, following safety procedures and protocols.
Providing technical support and training to customers on how to use and operate the micro-CT systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Coordinating and scheduling service visits with customers and other service engineers, managing your time and resources efficiently.
Working with vendors overseas to get answers to technical issues.
Documenting and reporting your service activities, including any repairs, upgrades, or feedback from customers.
Installing, calibrating, and servicing micro-CT systems at various customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
Staying updated on the latest developments and innovations in micro-CT technology and applications.
To be successful as a service engineer, you will need:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering / scientific field, such as electrical, mechanical, biomedical, or computer engineering.
At least 3 years of experience in a field service engineering role, preferably with micro-CT or similar X-ray imaging systems.
Willingness and availability to regularly travel to customer sites throughout the United States.
Excellent technical skills and knowledge of micro-CT systems and components, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to audiences new to micro-CT technology.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel extensively across the US, sometimes on short notice.
A passion for learning and a growth mindset.
