The Opportunity
Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Hardware Installation Engineer for Linear Accelerator in Varianโs Radiation Oncology Business Line
Overview
It is a perfect fit for this role if you are an enthusiastic, motivated and determined individual, perhaps looking for your entry-level role in the high-tech Cancer care environment, or maybe seeking a change in position to further your existing experience. In this job, you will be responsible for the onsite installation and upgrades of medical linear accelerators and associated equipment. You will have the opportunity to travel to many different parts of the world for 3-4 weeks at a time, whilst being responsible for your own working timetable and providing customers the exceptional level of service that they expect from Siemens Healthineers. After receiving world-class training, you will be trusted with the installation, testing, acceptance and handover of multi-million-dollar Linear Accelerator and associated systems that will be used in our relentless fight against cancer. We are also welcoming women field engineers in the team and our installations are getting empowered with their skills. Willingness for extensive travel (80% / Duration of each trip: maximum upto 4 weeks). In this challenging position, you will install our radiotherapy machine at our customerโs facilities. You will work directly with the end user during installation, testing and acceptance. You are required to be communicative, focused and analytical. In addition, you could express your ideas and research in written form. You should work independently and be open to the discussion of ideas and solutions with your colleagues. Role: Hardware Installation Engineer
The Role/Attributes
โข Install / Upgrade our Oncology Hardware Solutions according at our customers including validating the solution is ready for use for our customers to treat patients
โข Onsite installation of 3-4 weeks in one go for Linear Accelerators according to technical documentation & guidelines provided to ensure the machine install properly
โข Provides highly visible performance for on-site installation as well as diagnosis, troubleshooting, service and repair of high-tech complex systems,
โข Connect our Radiation Treatment devices to our Oncology Software Solutions
โข Perform and document the work completed according to Quality Management Systems
โข Help ensure we always meet agreed target dates for customers to treat patients on installation and upgrade work
โข Independently troubleshooting one-off technical problems with minimal assistance
โข Escalate discrepancies in troubleshooting processes and/or procedures
โข Suggest or provide direct input to specialists for process/product improvement
โข Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies & procedures to resolve issues
โข Checks out and approves the operational quality of systems & machines after installations,
โข Conduct Acceptance testing to ensure that all product specifications are met with the highest quality and in a timely manner,
What Is Needed to Succeed
โข Proficient knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanic, and associated test equipment for calibration and verification of Oncology System Products
โข Proficient with computer systems and related network applications
โข Transferrable technical skills related to IT network, mechanic, electronic, electrical and office tools
โข Customer-focused attitude articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication
โข 2 – 4 years experience in related field engineering
โข Fluency in English
โข Willingness to travel extensively, primarily within India, but also worldwide
โข Bachelorโs degree from a Technical Institute or University in electronics / electrical/biomedical/computer/electro-mechanical engineering or related fields or equivalent education
โข Well-versed with technical documents like installation manuals, technical bulletins,
โข Considerable experience in handling of tools and test equipment used for verification.
